Bruce Power Fire Protection Systems Engineer
Bruce Power currently has a vacancy for an engineer with experience in Fire Protection Systems (the P.ENG eligibility is part of the general requirements associated with the occupation code).
Preference is for someone who is familiar with the National Building Code and Fire Code, as well as familiarity with the provincial building and fire code regulations. Experience upgrading fire protection systems is an asset. The primary function would be to execute projects to replace fire detection systems, and upgrade the fire water main distribution systems. Other responsibilities will include reviewing and updating the maintenance program on the fire protection and detection systems to ensure that it complies with federal requirements. In addition to working with the fire protection program, the individual may be required to support other water distribution systems such as the site potable water distribution system and non-potable service water. The Site Services organization within Bruce Power maintains approximately 15km of fire water distribution network which services approximately 20 facilities of various sizes.
