This workshop will introduce you to Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), which is a computational fluid dynamics program designed specifically for Fire Protection practitioners. FDS, and its accompanying graphics program Smokeview, provide a field model with extremely powerful graphics that can be run on a PC. The hands-on format will demonstrate the breadth and depth of FDS by examining a number of fire modelling scenarios. It will be useful for those who are considering using FDS in their professional practice and those who review proposals based upon FDS models.
